Happy Halloween

One of my very favorite holidays came and went too fast. I am putting up all the Halloween decorations now, but my witches stay out all year. It is always "The Witching Hour" at my house! This was Jax's first Halloween. My little man went as a TURTLE. He loved his puffy turtle suit with detatchable shell and matching feet too! He is still a bit too little for trick-or-treating, but we saw some of our close friends who made a fuss over him. I made homemade chili and famous sugar cookies and we had a nice evening. I can't wait to watch him next year when he is walking better and can enjoy the holiday a little more. He is my little monster!!

Pumpkin Patch and Jax!

This past saturday, we took a family outing to the local pumpkin patch. It was a very chilly day here in Georgia...it felt like fall up north, so I didn't mind. We bundled Jax up in his fleece and hoodie and off we went. The pumpkin patch had all shapes and sizes pf pumpkins. Jax loved the tiny pumpkins...he would sit and touch them and then taste them too! They also had a "spooky" hayride that we went on. I think Jax had more fun studying the hay in the tractor than the actual ride. It was so fun for us to go and to watch Jax see new things. This is my favorite time of the year!!

Ingalsbe Family gathering-October 2009

So over the weekend Reed, Jax and I were able to go see my family in Utah. My sister also got married, so it was a wonderful, fun visit. I miss my family quite fiercely being across the map from them. So even though it was a short visit, too short, I was able to get as much love and laughter in as I could in those three days. Jax got to go for a ride on Papa's new tractor...Reed took the wheel and they rode around the property. Jax loved it! We were able to get with my sibs and sibs in law and have a YUMMY dinner at one of our favorite places, Maple Gardens. All the nieces and nephews are getting SO BIG! I can't believe I have not seen them since last Christmas. I am hoping we can get out there this holiday season too...its been a while since I have been home to celebrate my dads birthday. The wedding was beautiful. Jax crawled all over the dance floor, danced with Granny and wore his little self out. All the other grands had fun dancing, eating the chocolates and blowing bubbles. It was so nice to be embraced by family...that is our favorite place to be...with family!

"Cruising" the Caribbean

So my sweet Reed and I headed to the Caribbean for 8 wonderful days the last week of September. We went with our good friends and neighbors, Angie and Willie. We had a blast! We also spoiled ourselves and had a balcony cabin...it was so serene to watch the sun rise and set on the ocean from the comfort of our bed. We cruised to Cayman Islands, Isla Roatan in Honduras, Belize and Cozumel. This was an adult only trip, so sweet Jax hung with Granny Ingalsbe at our house. They had quite a fun visit and Jax decided to walk for Granny instead of mom and dad for the first time. I guess that is what we get for leaving him behind for the week. We are already planning our next cruise which will be a shorter family and friends affair. I told my sweet Reed that we should do a cruise a year! I think he agrees. I also think I gained 20 pounds in that week of sailing bliss. There is always food, food, food...good food!!! One afternoon they had a CHOCOLATE BUFFET!!!!! Pure heaven! The weather was perfect...the company was perfect...it is the way to vacation!

One Nation Under God...United We Stand

Today is a day of reflection. A day to remember the loss America suffered on 9/11. That day America came together and all stood up for Freedom. We were one nation that day, united in fear, sorrow, anger, pride...united we stand still. Men and women answered the call to serve America that day, to defend her freedom, her liberty. Today, there are many service members who leave thier families, put their lives on the line, and stand on the wall to continue to preserve those freedoms that America was founded. This is not about politics, who is right or who is wrong...this is about our fellow American's who have given the ultimate sacrifice...let them not have died in vain. At the end of the day, we are ALL AMERICANS who live under the stars and stripes and the freedoms we are blessed with each day. The red, the white, the blue...One Nation Under God...I am proud to be the daughter of a soldier, the wife of a soldier...I am proud to be an American.

Bath time Caper!!!

So last night it was bath time for Jax in the Christofferson household. I was running the bath for Jax and Reed was getting him undressed and ready for his evening dip. While waiting for the tub to fill up with its lavender goodness, Reed decided to let naked Jax roam free and "air" out. A few minutes went by and we noticed it was a little "too quiet" in the house. Where was Jax? He could not have gone far. I got a little nervous and hoped he had not crawled into one of the rooms and peed everywhere. After a minute we realized he was in the playroom/office. There was our cute naked Jax, sitting on the floor, "reading" Chika Chika Boom Boom upside down. Nothing like a little naked story time to relax you. It was such a priceless moment, I had to capture it on camera...the minute he heard the camera zoom in, he turned and this picture is what I got! Love it!!
