Once Upon A Potty

This is a picture of a potty made by Baby Bjorn...this potty also cost $30 (with tax) at your local Target.  This potty is now sitting in my bathroom, and this is why...

So, the other day I took the kids to Target for some necessities and a few not so necessary items too...I mean it is Target!  Jax has been potty training and is doing a fabulous job!  He is going every time his potty watch goes off and now is able to go without the watch or myself reminding him.  Ok, back to Target...so, we were in the baby section.  I was picking up diapers, wipes, formula and then decided to look at some of the potty seats they had.  The one we started with didn't quite seem to have a wide enough opening (you know what I mean...)  There was a cute frog potty for $12 and the above potty for $30 and a bunch of others in between.  I was wandering around the potty aisle looking at other items when I hear from behind me, "Mom, I go'ed"  I turn around to see my little Jax peeing in the Baby Bjorn $30 dollar potty in the middle of Target!!!!!!!  Well as the saying goes, "you pee in it, you buy it..."  At least he did not go in his pants and it is red, my favorite color...and now you can find it in my bathroom!

This week at the Christofferson house...

I have been taking so many pictures lately...I just want to capture the little ones before they grow up too much!  They get bigger right before my eyes!  Here are a few of my favorites for this week...

Big brother and little Sis enjoying their evening bath.  Reese loves sitting in her bumbo seat and chewing on Jax's foam letters.  Jax is finally ok with her sharing his bath time :)

My handsome little guy fresh out of the tub, tapping into his creative side before bed.  I am loving that his hair is FINALLY growing out from last summers debacle!
Mom and Reese...she is quite the drooler with more teeth coming in, but so fun!!

This is my little beauty right before she goes to bed.  She is always so happy to roll around and get her wiggles out before bed and bottle time.  Look at that smile...ah, she melts my heart.
BIGGEST NEWS!!!!  Jax is on the potty training road!  He has his potty watch to remind him when it is time to go.  I am determined to have him DONE before Reed gets back :)

Happy Valentines Day...

It is Valentines Day and I am without my Valentine.  Reed and I have not spent a Valentines Day together since 2005!  Between deployments and training away, we just seem to miss Valentines together.  2012 is no different...he is off playing POW at SERE-C for the next few weeks.  I am blessed to have Jaxon and Reese as my little valentine treat :)  They fill me with so much love and happiness!
Reed was able to pull off a valentine gift, even in his absence.  He gave me a sweet and sappy card in true Reed fashion, for which I love him all the more and a bottle of Via la Juicy...his favorite scent on me and mine too!!  I sit here thinking and realize that as much as I would love to have him here this Valentines Day, we actually celebrate each other and our love for each other every day that we are together.  In the past several years, that time has been cut in half, but I love him even more for all the time we have spent seperated by an ocean and war.  Every day I fall in love with my sweet husband all over again, whether he is right here with me or away.  He has a way about him...he has my whole heart.  He is the best Valentine and he is mine all mine 365 days a year!

The Sick House...

So, since Reed is off for a 3 week training where we will not have ANY communication, the kids of course are sick...fevers, coughing, sleeplessness, whines, crys, the whole bit!  I am pretty accustomed to being the single parent half the year, but when both little ones are sick, it is a bit hard.  Reese is on an antibiotic, finally after 3 trips to the doctor and seems to be eating a little better.  Her sleeping habits have gone back to those of a newborn...hopefully that will pass soon!  I hate it when they are sick.  It is so pitiful...their sick little eyes and faces.  Jax has taken to sleeping in my bed and that seems to help him get some rest.  I have a feeling he will make my bed his bed for the next few weeks...my little cuddle buddy.  We are a little house bound for right now...just till they both get feeling better.  It seems like this always happens when Reed goes, but you just put on your big girl panties and deal with it :)
Little Reese, all snuggled up and rocked all night...

My little sick snuggle bug...

A girl and a her giraffe

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful blue eyed little girl names Reese.  Reese was a little southern belle who was quite the charmer to all those that crossed her path.  She was a happy little darling...smiles, giggles, kisses galore for all her family and friends.  But, there was one thing that Reese loves above all others...her Giraffe, "Raff Raff".  Raff Raff came to Reese via Auntie Rachel Schultz at a lovely shower put on in honor of her.  For the first 2 months Raff Raff sat on a shelf waiting patiently for her lady to play with her.  Finally the day came!!  Reese and Raff Raff were introduced.  It was a match made in heaven.  Reese takes Raff Raff everywhere she goes whether it is at the house or on an outing. Raff Raff even has a "double" for when Raff Raff 1 has to retire.  Reese loves this little toy to pieces.  She is always chewing on her or holding her legs as she travels around.  I had to capture this little friendship.  Her little face just lights up when she sees her Raff Raff and it is so fun to watch her.  Who would have thought a little squeaky giraffe could bring a little princess so much joy!

Words according to JAX

Each day my little 3 year old Jax is talking, talking, talking...He has a great vocabulary, but cannot always pronounce the words exactly.  His vocabulary goes off how he interprets it.  It can be rather entertaining.  I wanted to write a few of them down, so I would always remember them.

"Hunchback Whale" meaning:  Hunchback of Notre Dame
"Cack Hawk" meaning: Black Hawk (helicopter)
"Coyote" meaning Kiowa (helicopter)
"Crocketts" meaning Crocs
"Trickering" meaning Tricking
"Badilla" maning Vanilla
"Panpakes" meaning Pancakes
"Pack Pack" menaing Back Pack
"Ranger" meaning Soldier (anyone is ACU's and sometimes he is actually right)
"Chopstix" meaning Gymnastics and what some people eat with (he got one part right)

There are just a few off the top of my head...more to come.
